I always love seeing past wedding clients grow a family of their own. Had the pleasure to photograph Marilena and Dan’s wedding back in 2013. Now they are starting a new and exciting chapter of their lives. Good luck, have fun and can’t wait to meet your new addition soon.
Early Tuesday morning on the 14th of Jan my wife gave birth to our beautiful girl – Charleigh Faye Booth. She let out an exciting hello cry to welcome us. At a small yet healthy weight of 6lb, 7oz’s she was healthy and happy.
I had brought my camera with me in case I had the energy and mindset to photograph but I unfortunately had neither. So with our phones took a couple snaps to suffice our friends and family. Within a couple days of returning home she settled in very nicely as her routine became apparent.
In her first weeks of life she’s has been the best little gift our family could ask for. Great eater, good sleeper and happy when she’s awake.
Here are some of my favourites from her first professional shoot…
2012 will be one of the most memorable years in my photography business. The first few months are always slow, which comes with the weather. But this is the time of year to catch up, learn new techniques, begin new advertising campaigns, share photos with you all that I just didn’t have time to do throughout my busy summer/autumn months. Along with all the computer work I shot some great classic children’s portraits, dramatic baby bumps and edgy but classic business head shots. We also got the cutest puppy in the world! There were a lot of fundraising events for our charity – “Climb Kili 2012” which you can click here to still donate to such a great cause!
This year was a first for me – WPPI in Vegas. Super cool conference. Learned a few new tricks of the trade along with seeing what is hot and what is not in the industry. I can see myself going again!
Amongst all my work are some of my favourite personal photos I have taken this year. Had the pleasure to photograph a wedding in Cape Breton. So spending a few days on the new Cabot Links golf coarse and enjoying Inverness’s amazing beach made it for a great working holiday.
The rest of the summer I watched my boy win his baseball little league, polar bears at the Detroit Zoo, the Stanley Cup come to Amherstburg ON, and finally drop that extra 5 lb’s to help me get to the top of Kilimanjaro.
Spending 13 days in Africa with such an amazing group of people all the while pushing ourselves to the limits physically and mentally and reaching the summit of Africa’s highest mountain – Kilimanjaro was worth 18 months of fundraising and training! Finishing off our trip we experienced the wild side of Africa while on a 3 day safari. It was truly a trip of a lifetime!
The last 3.5 months of last year has been THE busiest I have ever been. Yet I still found some down time to go see an NFL game in Buffalo and to send a couple day at Kalahari with my friend Mike and our boys.
Thanks to everyone who has supported me and my business over the years. Last was great, though I’m not sure how I will be able to top it. I can assure you that I will surely try!
I asked Carla if she would like to hike the steep (and when I say steep, there’s a roped section) to Egypt Falls for a post-wedding (not really a trash the dress shoot but close) styled shoot with Corey in front of the falls she was all game from the word go!
As things go I wish I had about 3 more flashes to light everything but I think the photos turned out fairly good with what I had. How could they not with a beautiful couple in such an amazing setting.
Thanks again Carla and Corey for letting me be a part of your wonderful day and for trekking down to the falls for this as well!
Head shots are a crucial part of getting jobs if you are auditioning for acting roles or modelling jobs.
Miranda was in the studio last week and here are some fav’s from the session.
Contact me for rates if interested.
Having photographed Ethan a few times now, he’s a season vet! The latest session of this soon to be heart breaker was fun with a some laughter…”burp”!
I love photographing a child from birth and having the chance to capture the growth physically and otherwise. If you are thinking of doing this I highly recommend it! It is worth the time and investment to look back years from now and see that gorwth! Or if you’re even just thinking of having the family get togther for the first time in years, drop me and line I would love to hear from you!
On assignment for the Windsor Symphony Orchestra lead me to the Harrow Fair on opening night photographing one of Windsor’s most recognizable faces -John Morris Russell.
I spent a couple hours following him and his family around the quintessential and not to mention one of the longest and oldest small town fairs in North America.
Here are some of my fav’s from that evening.
Had the pleasure to photograph a couple of fabulous little buns barely out of the oven a couple weeks back.
Always fun photographing newborns as you never know their little personalities may just pop out at any moment! Not to mention relieving themselves as well…lol
Isn’t this little girl the cutest thing….
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to photograph the daughter of a previous couple who got married back in 2007.
I ran into Robin, Molly’s mom, while taking my son swimming and she asked if I photographed children. I do! Though I don’t have any fancy backgrounds, props or set-ups. I do however, go to the location of your choice, which is normally your own home, and set up my white or black background and photograph. I always suggest adding a personal touch such as a favourite blanket, toy, hat or even the family dog. Whatever you would like. Something to make it more personal and memorable.
These are some of my favourites from Molly’s first official pro shoot…I’m sure there will be many more. She’s just too darn cute not too!
Contact me directly for rates. As always – a disc is included of all the photos taken once they are fully edited to my high standard.
Before the weather decided to head south, one Sunday afternoon I photographed a couple brothers in downtown Windsor.
The sun was shining, the weather was cool yet nice. The boys looked great in their jackets and jeans. I had fun and I think they did to!
Enjoy the photos and keep smiling!
Had the utmost pleasure to be introduced and the honour of photographing one of Canada’s foremeost living icons in the world today – Margret Atwood.
She was in Windsor, ON on the last leg of her 8 month book signing tour and sat down with ERCA and THE DRIVE magazine for a small interview.
While she talked about how the environment is within our community and Canada, I snapped away some very intriguing photos of her.
Enjoy and keep smiling!
In the previous post I photographed the Haglund’s in Malden Park. This post was actually from the same day…so if you happened to read it I mentioned how I lost my VW key. Well I was supposed to meet this awesome family at their house and go to a different location. But due to not being able to go anywhere and stuck in the parking lot of Malden Park, they graciously came to me. We snapped away and came out with what we wanted! Thanks again guys for coming to meet me on such a tight time line!
Enjoy the photos
Back in early November when the weather was simple unreal! I had the pleasure of photographing the Haglund family. Wandering around mid morning in Malden park on one of the best fall days anyone could ask for was great! Their three girls loved playing in the leaves as much as I loved photographing them having fun!
After the couple hours we wandered back to the parking lot with over 800 images to go through I knew there would be some keepers! Funny thing happened, well wasn’t really funny at the time. I had lost my VW key somewhere we had been within the park. Rob graciously came with me to help find them – retracing our steps twice I had no luck finding it! What a horrible feeling. Especially when these new keys are a small fortune to replace! Talking it over with a buddy, Chris Nugent that night, he suggested renting a metal detector. I did and found it the next day. Now it’s funny!
Enjoy the photos!
On one of our last beautiful fall days here in Windsor, Sunday the 25th of October, I photographed Melissa and Anthony at Ojibway Park in LaSalle. The sun was shining, the fall colours were out and about 20 other photographers were thinking the same thing I was – perfect day for a shoot! This was the first of two I had this day. The second one I will post shortly. Enjoy.
