2015 was a year to remember. My daughter Charleigh was in the 2 year of her life, enjoying learning, laughing and waving at everyone from cars passing by to the airplanes in the sky. My boy Quinn turned 11 and is the typical boy of that age, loving gaming, hockey, YouTube and his baby sister.
Well enough of the chit chat, lets get down to why you are on my blog – to see some of my favourite wedding (and some engagement) images from 2015.
Sit back, grab a glass on your favourite vino and enjoy some images from the best clients a wedding photographer could ask for!
When Brianne contacted me and asked if we could photography their engagement session in Detroit, my creative thoughts started flowing. I love shooting in downtown Detroit as there are so many little locations to choose from and ones waiting to be discovered. And this is what happened a week before their session. I discovered the Z Lot parking garage close to all the favourite hot spots downtown Detroit. Its now my favourite by far. From the parking garage, its a small walk to Greektown where there is always a buzz and lots lof little hidden spots to get some great images.
Rena’s beauty and Alex’s style I got to photograph first when I shot their engagement photos in early summer of this year. From that I was looking forward to their wedding day.
Upon the day of the wedding, it was no different with their style abound. Some of Rena and Alex’s ideas were original to me though I believe some of them came from Pinterest. I had fun photographing such a fun couple in some of my favourite locations in Windsor – Canadian Club Brand Centre and the St Claire Centre for the Art’s.
Their day was fun filled with lots of smiles and love!
The summer’s craziest weekend in Windsor was by far the Red Bull Air Races! So I wasn’t busy enough and squeezed in Amanda and Drew’s engagement shot while they were in town visiting and enjoying the festivities! The buzz downtown that Sunday was fabulous! So we walked a few blocks south of the crowds and had some laughs in the alleys. Even high fiving a giant pita!
Jessica and Jim asked me to come up to Bayfield ON, for their engagement photos back at the end of June.
I almost forgot to post my favourites from their session but remember tonight.
I was glad I took the time to drive up past Grand Bend that fine evening! Not only is it nice to have a new exciting location but I’m very happy with how their photos turned out!
Kristen asked if I could get some of those photos I’ve taken before in tall grass…Sure I said!
So I had them rolling in the hay sort to speak! I think her dress took the brunt of the location – so we headed to towards an old abandoned factory warehouse to get something different than we just shot.
I think the last series turned out so well I decided to use one of the tall grass or reed images on one side of my new biz card!
Thanks guys and I look forward to your wedding in November!
This last Saturday afternoon in the unpredictable weather of March, Jessica and Sean asked to have their engagement photos taken. Since their wedding is less than two months away there was no time like the present. Though the weatherman predicted doom and gloom for the entire weekend, it turned out not bad for mid-March! The sun even poked its beautiful head out a few times to warm us up!
Always wanting to find new locations it’s sometimes tough in a small town – but I wanted to get into the empty space in the Chrysler Building on Ouellette Ave. Knowing in the back of my mind that I wasn’t really allowed to photograph in the build without permission, sometimes it’s better to ask forgiveness than permission.
And this was one of those times!
After a 16 year old part time security guard asked us to leave we walked the back alleys and streets of downtown Windsor. Completing a a fairly large circle, we finished back at the St. Clair Centre for the Arts on Riverside Dr.
Fun was had by all and I’m pretty happy about the photos I took for Jess and Sean! I’m looking forward to their big day May 1st!
Had the pleasure of heading over to Detroit with Ann and Mike whos wedding next year will be at the end of May, great time of year! Being Halloween we got through the tunnel in 5 minutes, which I haven’t seen in a very long time! Parked downtown, walked to Greektown and started shooting. The sun popped through a few times for us, but the wind was mighty chilly. We got into the casino and toured around finding some hidden spots before security caught on. lol
Once back outside Mike suggested a break over at the Old Shillelagh’s. We all tried Kid Rock’s new beer, Badass Beer – the name says it all – BAD lol We finished our loop of downtown with a stopover at Campus Martius. Enjoy!
The second engagement session I photographed at Ojibway Park was with Amy and Geoff. The crowds thinned and the park was a tad quiter to roam around and find some quiet spots. It was so peaceful we actaully saw 5 deer enjoying the weather like the rest of us. Though they were a bit far away to get any decent photos of. Enjoy the fall colours.
On one of our last beautiful fall days here in Windsor, Sunday the 25th of October, I photographed Melissa and Anthony at Ojibway Park in LaSalle. The sun was shining, the fall colours were out and about 20 other photographers were thinking the same thing I was – perfect day for a shoot! This was the first of two I had this day. The second one I will post shortly. Enjoy.
