My last post I mentioned how getting to know my clients during their engagement shoot is a vital key.
I photographed Shana and David last fall in old Sandwich Town in the west end of Windsor and we enjoyed a pint at the end of a great shoot. Tis gave me that time for them to get to know me a bit better and vice versa.
So when it came to the day of their outdoor ceremony at Sprucewood Shores Winery they were very comfortable with me behind the lens. They happened to do the “untraditional” seeing of each other before hand – which is becoming more popular with 30-somethings in the last few years – this allowed us to get some intimate photos of just the two of them before guests started arriving. With the weather looming and the clouds getting darker it was a great decision to do this. The ceremony unfortunately, had to be moved under the tent just in time before the rain started. Fortunately the sun did decide to grace us an hour or so later and we got down to the beach after all.
In another non-traditional twist – Shana and David decided not to have a traditional sit down reception but instead let their guest mingle while enjoying amazing hors d’oeuvres and of course lots of great wine and as the sun set a great fireworks display was watched and enjoyed by all.
Thanks Shana and David for letting me be apart of a fabulous evening that the two of you will forget.
Cheers
