Ann + Mike are married

So as the summer season begins to heat up literally, so does the fun couples I have the pleasure to photograph.

I had the pleasure to spend an afternoon with Ann and Mike last year snapping their engagement photos in downtown Detroit. So when it came time to photograph their wedding on May 29th I was really looking forward to it.

The day started off with the fellas just hanging and reminiscing about the old days – always funny to hear the old stories told between lifelong friends!

Next was Ann’s house with her and her girls getting ready. The weather was perfect for the outdoor ceremony at The Brand Centre (Hiram Walkers), sunny with no chance of rain! Having photographed this location numerous times it was a pleasure to see it late spring with such good weather. After the glorious and somewhat funny (specifically when the Minister asked for the rings) ceremony we spent a sometime wondering the grounds inside and out snapping away.

With Ann being Chinese, a tradition tea ceremony was held back at their house later in the afternoon before the reception, though the limo got diverted to McD’s for a quick snack attack first. This was my second tea ceremony in as many years and I always love to see traditions like this having a place in the modern world we live in!

As the day continued so did the festivities. The reception was held at the Ciacaro Club of Windsor. If dinner was my only meal of that day I still would have been over my caloric intake for the day! Wow what a meal! Thanks you two!
